February 2013 Volume 1, Issue 11
Hello MapInfo Professional Users
tom Hello! This month we have given the Query Ninja and Scripting Samurai a break and have included a "Something a bit more Advanced" article. Both the Easy Tip and Advanced tip came from questions from the user community.

If that is not enough for you, a question appeared in our LinkedIn Group on how to convert KML/KMZ TAB files into MapInfo format. The group has nearly 300 members now. If you want to join in on the discussion click here

Easy Tip - Making a thematic map translucent. Yes you can!

Thanks go to Nikolaas Vyerman from GIM Solutions in Belgium for suggesting this tip! Nikolaas pointed out that some of our users find it difficult to apply translucency settings to a thematic map. We will show you that and maybe one or two other things too!

Something a bit more Advanced! Updating a table of lines/polylines with the starting and ending coordinates.
advanced

The inspiration for this comes from the MapInfo UK User Group talk list. A question was asked on how to add the starting and ending coordinates of line objects (and multi-segment polylines), to a table. So we thought that maybe other people might have the same question.
