Happy New Year!
new year Hello and Happy New Year to all! To kick off the journal in 2013 we have the debut of Sean Richards, Director of Product Management, Asia Pacific Region. Sean brings our first contribution from Australia, the piece is called the "Scripting Samurai".

We also ran our first survey in the December issue and my New Year's Resolution was to share some of the results with you. That's me sorted for 2013. How are you doing on your resolutions?

Easy Tip - Set the default symbol used by the Find command
ez

The default symbol for the Query > Find command is a small grey star. This symbol is not suitable for all maps. If you find yourself constantly changing the symbol, there is a better way.

Something a bit more Advanced!
advanced

In the December's "Easy Tip" section we introduced the topic of using zoom layering. In this article we go into some of the more advanced capabilities found in Layer control.

This article can help you to do some things a little faster, expand your options for map styling and give you a cleaner, easier to navigate Layer Control...

Rummaging in the Tool box: Workspace Packager Tool

Sue Disy brings you another great article. If you ever need to package up all of the data in a workspace in order to share it with someone else, here you go.

Reflecting Back... What did the survey say?

Last month was our first customer survey.

Click here to see the results...

Thanks to the 91 people who filled out the survey! That is less than 10% of you who opened the e-mail so I will have to figure out how to increase the participation rates. Below are the results.

It was interesting that 21% of the respondents have AutoCAD Map in their organisation. That is more than I would have expected - and let me remind those of you who are using MI Pro v11.5 that the patch release is available and if you are using SQLite you will find MI Pro and AutoCAD Map can share the same data!

Look for another survey to come out in the February issue.
