MapInfo Pro™ Monthly Journal - July Issue

MapInfo Pro™ Monthly Journal
July 2013 Volume 2, Issue 4
(Almost) too much to write about!
Tom It is a good thing this is an electronic journal. There has been a lot going on at Pitney Bowes Software these past few weeks. MapInfo Professional v12.0 has been released. We offered a sneak preview of the new labeling capabilities last month and we'll cover more of what's new in this issue.

We are running a series of Web seminars called "The Six Traits of Highly Efficient GIS People". The purpose of this series is to provide ideas and strategies for GIS Professionals to tackle today's business challenges.

Also, if you have not seen it yet we have launched an all new MapInfo.com web site and a new Community Downloads site. We have also relaunched the MapInfo Twitter account.

The articles this month include debuts from two new authors. Rob Salmond, one of the Pre-sales consultants in the UK went "Rummaging in the Tool Box" and provides a guide on how to use the Distance Calculator tool. Dr. Nishant Sinha, a Senior Project Manager in our Data Development team has penned an article on how Location Intelligence helps banks to turn their customer data into an asset to better serve customers and compete effectively. Finally, Peter Moeller returns as the Query Ninja with an article on using the AreaOverlap() function .

Enjoy, and please let us know how we are doing. You can join our LinkedIn Group and tell us what you would like to see in this journal.
