It's that time of year again!
Tom Hello, I'm Rose Winterton. I've taken over Global Product Management responsibilities for MapInfo Professional. The headline is not referring to the Solstice or the beginning of summer (up north) or winter (down south) or even the end of another school year.

Of course, I'm referring to our own little tradition of releasing a new version of MapInfo Professional in June. Indeed, MapInfo Professional v11.5 has shipped and we have covered one of the new capabilities in this issue. We'll bring you more in future issues.

We have a new contributor this month, thanks go to Juan Carlos Cuesta from our office in Madrid. Check out JC's excellent article on using Crystal Reports with MapInfo Professional.

With lots of people taking time off for holidays we will do an August issue but it will be a bit shorter than usual. The original plan was to skip August but we have had such great response to this that we decided to we'd better give you something.

One final note. We would appreciate it if you would forward this on to other people in your organisation who might benefit from learning a bit more about using MapInfo Professional.

Rose Winterton, Global Product Line Director

The layout window is not for everything (so try crystal reports) By Juan Carlos Cuesta

One of the most important windows in MapInfo Professional is the Layout Window. Most of my customers use it to create dashboards and outputs that provide insight for more people in the organisation.
